On Friday, November 11, in the Maksimir VIP box at the Maksimir stadium in Zagreb, Foundation ”Nema predaje” held a ceremonial awarding of scholarships to students athletes selected through a competition.
In a beautiful setting, a positive atmosphere and with a short interesting program led by the well-known Zagreb young journalist and presenter Ivan Fedor, the foundation’s project related to financial support for excellent pupils and students who are also successful athletes was completed. From December 2020 until today, the foundation has made a total of 35 donations in the amount of 230.000,00 euro. As the last in a series of numerous projects, the foundation chose this scholarship program and decided in the current school and academic year to provide financial support to ten young successful and talented students who are actively involved in sports.
A total of 41 applications were received for the competition, and the board of directors made a decision to award scholarships to 10 people who meet general and special conditions, who achieved exceptional sports and academic success according to the propositions, and according to the formed ranking list according to all prescribed criteria.
The event was attended by the president of GNK Dinamo Mirko Barišić, president of the board of the club and manager of the foundation Vlatka Peras, president of the board of directors of the foundation and member of the board of Dinamo Krešimir Antolić, member of the board of the club and member of the board of directors of the foundation Amra Peternel and member of the board of directors of the foundation and head of the PR office of Dinamo Iva Cigrovskij. The awarding of scholarships was also attended by esteemed guests, the president of the Croatian Football Association, Marijan Kustić, the head coach of Dinamo’s first team, Ante Čačić, player and project ambassador Luka Ivanušec, and other respected partners, donors, guests and the media.
Scholarship recipients of the Nema Predaje Foundation who came to the festive event not only from Zagreb, but also from other Croatian cities are high school students Mihael Balać, Fran Kamberger, Veronika Muraja, Nikola Đurđević and Teo Janković and college students Lara Delić, Hana Cvijanović, Franko Novokmet, Fabijan Junaci and Matea Čerina. Due to participation in international competitions, Veronika Muraja and Hana Cvijanović unfortunately did not attend the event itself.
Our Foundation and Dinamo wanted to show that successful athletes should be appreciated and praised not only in football, but also in other sports, so scholarships were awarded to young successful athletes who are involved in athletics, swimming, fencing, rowing, handball, skating, and football.
The foundation awarded a total of 10 individual scholarships, 2.322,60 euro per person, in 10 monthly rates. The total fund for this project amounts to 23.200,00 euro.
