The Foundation “Nema predaje” has decided to make this year’s Christmas and winter holidays at least a little more beautiful for the children in the SOS Children’s Village Lekenik and Ladimirevci.
Proceeds of the auction of Dinamo players’ jerseys from the Europa League quarterfinal match Dinamo – Villarreal, played earlier in 2021, were donated to the Foundation “Nema predaje”. Together with the first team and the captain Arijan Ademi, it was decided to donate the whole amount to the SOS Children’s Village Lekenik and Ladimirevci.
In order for children without proper parental care to have beautiful and pleasant winter holidays that every child deserves, the Foundation decided to organize festive tables for the SOS families and gifts for the children.
For the purposes of this campaign, the Foundation donated an amount of HRK 67,500.00 in the form of 30 gift vouchers for the Konzum retail chain in the amount of HRK 2,000 each for groceries needed for a festive table for each SOS family – 14 in Lekenik, 16 in Ladimirevci – as well as fun social games and gift packages for children in both villages. The children were also given holiday posters with Dynamo’s mascot: the lion Plavko.
Due to epidemiological measures in the villages, the handover of the donation was organized in Zagreb, where the director of the donation and communications department of the SOS Children’s Village Croatia, Marinka Šenjug, was handed over the donation, on behalf of the Foundation, member of the Board of Trustees Iva Cigrovskij and office administrator Antea Šapina.
In Lekenik, the SOS mothers take care of 73 children of all ages, while in the SOS Children’s Village Ladimirevci, 71 children live in families.
The specific nature of the concept of SOS Children’s Villages is the realization of a strong emotional connection between the child and the SOS mother, as well as the policy of non-separation of biological siblings. The SOS mothers live and work in the village, and some of them have already raised several generations of children. The holiday season is a special time of year when the smells of cakes and baking spread from the SOS houses, and children look forward to the holidays and the Christmas atmosphere.
As in any other family, the household budget needs to be increased in those days, and the Foundation “Nema predaje” has provided everything needed for a festive table. This activity includes all children from both SOS villages, their SOS mothers and SOS carers who prepare Christmas meals and desserts for their SOS family.
We thank all the fans and football supporters from Croatia, Europe and the whole world who bought jerseys and T-shirts from the historic match between Dinamo and Villarreal and thus participated in a beautiful story through the Dinamo Foundation!
