We are helping the Club NK Prelošćica

NK Posavina Preloščica is a football club from the area of the town Sisak whose club and locker rooms were destroyed in a devastating earthquake in December 2020. In order to enable the football players and the club’s management to return to their premises, the Foundation “Nema predaje” approved a donation for the renovation of the premises of the football club competing in the 2nd County Football League Sisak in the amount of HRK 55,285.00. In addition to that, approved was the donation of sports equipment for players, as well as football equipment such as nets, cones, obstacles and other items needed for practice.

In the autumn of 2021, the renovation of the premises where almost all load-bearing walls were damaged was completed, and the handover of sports equipment and props was carried out. We also visited the football club before a training session. We had the opportunity to talk briefly with the president of the club Ivan Detković, who started this whole action for his club and his players.

– This donation means a lot for our club that plays in the 2nd County Football League Sisak, as well as for this region in general. Regardless of the outcome of our request, I decided as the club president to contact the Foundation “Nema Predaje” because we needed help. I believed that the answer would be positive, as it turned out to be. The first reactions in the club were “you’re joking, we don’t believe you”, but when the donation was successfully realized and especially when the works started, everyone was left speechless.

The period after the devastating earthquake that hit the region of Banovina was quite difficult for everyone. Many were left without homes, jobs, and the consequences were also seen in sports. The Dinamo Foundation previously helped in the village of Pecki near the town Petrinja, where it donated 10 housing containers to the residents of the village that was destroyed by the earthquake.

– The earthquake and the consequences in terms of unusable club premises made the spring part of the championship difficult for us because our premises were destroyed, so we had to host home matches and practices in Sisak, at the NK Metalac stadium. Our premises were not usable and needed urgent repairs. It was not safe to use the premises, and therefore it was not possible to have practices on our pitch. Through the Foundation, we received a donation to renovate the locker room and the club rooms, and we are truly thankful for that, because now we have adequate working conditions again.

As part of the donation, the club and players have been equipped with sports equipment. With the new sports equipment it will be easier to have practices and preparations for matches.

– We are sincerely grateful for the donated sports equipment, which means a lot to us so, because with that help we can still function at a decent level. Our players are also happy and pleased with the support. The donation also included sports props, which are very important for having normal practice sessions. It is certainly much harder for smaller clubs that do not have big budgets and sometimes need the support of others, especially in an area that was hit by an earthquake, after which it has been difficult to return to normal. Therefore, we are happy that the Dinamo Foundation recognized how much this support will mean to us.

Considering that one of the ideas of the Foundation is the promotion of sports, football and a healthy lifestyle among children and young people, we asked the president of the club what the situation in the region of Donja Posavina is when it comes to football for children and young talents.

– We are thinking about registering some younger categories next year in order to bring even more life to Donja Posavina and forget about all the bad things that happened. Children and young players from this region would thus get the opportunity to play football, but everything is still just an idea. We hope that one day we will talk about our young ones.

We wish the football club that competes in the 2nd County Football League Sisak has a lot of success in the future and to celebrate numerous victories and good results in its renovated premises!
